Here at Gray’s Pharmacy, we support our local Cashel community with all their healthcare needs and we are proud to offer a range of essential medical services face-to-face and online. We are an experienced, friendly team and we would like to introduce ourselves and our services to ensure that you know exactly what to expect from us and all the ways we can help you.

We pride ourselves on offering warm, professional healthcare advice to everyone, and our staff all take extensive training to update their skills and knowledge regularly. Our Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are professionally trained, each with particular areas of expertise to ensure that you can always get the most relevant advice and help with your healthcare queries.

Our team is made up of committed professionals who have a passion for healthcare and working within the community. We are a close-knit, female team who support one another and work together to provide exactly what our customers need. We are:

Ruth Garahy

Prop. M.P.S.I. Pharmacist, Nutrition and Life Coach

Ruth Garahy is one of our excellent Pharmacists, with a first-class postgraduate qualification in Health Promotion. She works with the University of Limerick School of Medicine and with local GPs to provide education about diabetes prevention to our customers. Diabetes prevention and remission is a specialist area for Ruth, who is also a nutrition and lifestyle coach and can provide expert advice on dietary and lifestyle changes that can revolutionise your health. You can contact Ruth via the Ask Our Pharmacist query form and she will be very happy to respond to your health concerns online or to arrange a face-to-face consultation.

 

Mary

Pharmacist

Mary is a dedicated Pharmacist, renowned for her extensive knowledge and her kindness as a practitioner. Mary is always on hand to offer exceptional support and guidance and can answer questions about medications or any concerns you have about your health. Our customers are soon put at ease by Mary’s caring manner and she values being able to take the time to understand exactly what each needs and giving the highest level of service to everyone.

 

 

Siobhan

Pharmacy Technician

Siobhan is an experienced team member who has been with us for many years and is always happy to share her expertise with our customers. Siobhan is our most senior pharmacy technician and she is committed to ensuring that all customers receive the highest level of care. Siobhan spends her time preparing prescriptions, managing the inventory and providing guidance on over-the-counter products, and loves to help our customers and the rest of the team.

 

 

Linda

Pharmacy Technician 

Linda is a skilled pharmacy technician who ensures our Pharmacy runs smoothly. She has many years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and her expertise in medication management is extensive. Our customers receive the best possible care and advice from Linda and she is always ready to help you with your prescriptions, over-the-counter medications and healthcare enquiries.

We offer a range of services related to your healthcare and lifestyle, from medication provision to dietary advice and guidance. We believe that taking care of your health holistically is the best possible way to stay healthy.

 

The services we offer include:

Diabetes advice. Our pharmacists can help you to manage your diabetes, both Type 1 and Type 2. We can offer support and advice about medication and equipment that can be helpful to you, such as blood glucose meters and your insulin options, as well as diet and lifestyle choices that can transform your experience of living with diabetes and your quality of life.

Blood pressure testing. Our blood pressure testing service is quick and convenient, enabling you to have your blood pressure checked whenever you are concerned or need the information. We advise that you have your blood pressure checked at least once each year if you are overweight, smoke or do not exercise much, and it is advisable to see your doctor if you have high blood pressure.

Vaccine services. We can arrange and administer many different vaccines from our pharmacy, including free vaccinations, such as the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine (free for most people), as well as vaccines against shingles and pneumonia, which will usually incur a cost.

Vitamin B12 administration. We offer vitamin B12 supplementation and this can be arranged by your doctor or pharmacist.

Blister medication packing. Our experienced team will be happy to organise your prescriptions into a daily or weekly blister service at no extra charge, to help make it more convenient for you to manage your medication routine.

Emergency contraception. Our pharmacists are sensitive and discreet and they can help you with all types of contraception, including emergency contraception. It’s important to be aware that some medicines will prevent contraceptives from working properly so it is vital to discuss any other medication you are taking with your pharmacist.

Free delivery service. There’s no need to struggle if you don’t have transport, as we have a free delivery service for our customers to ensure that you receive your medication on time. Talk to our friendly team to set up this service so that you do not have to go without your medicines.

Incontinence care. Our pharmacists can offer discreet and practical advice on managing incontinence, as well as help you find the best products to help.

Independent living aids. If you are finding it more difficult to manage at home as you get older, it can be helpful to talk to our sympathetic pharmacists for advice on independent living aids. We can advise on products such as lifting aids and personal alarms, as well as many other solutions.

Medicines review. It is very helpful to have a medication review occasionally, particularly if you are taking several medications or having treatment for a range of conditions. Our pharmacists will discuss your current medication regime and look at where improvements could be made.

Ostomy supply. Here are Gray’s Pharmacy, we can supply all the equipment you need to manage your stoma, including pouch systems, ostomy bags and barrier rings, as well as offering support and advice. Whether your stoma is temporary or permanent, we can help you to care for it and maintain your health as you adjust to your new routine.

Smoking cessation. Giving up smoking can be very difficult, and our experienced team can help to make the process easier for you. Quitting smoking is a wonderful thing to do for your health and we have a specially designed Smoking Cessation programme to help you to achieve your goal. Support stockings. Support stockings can help to improve circulation and encourage blood flow towards the heart, and we can measure your legs to ensure you have the right size, style and type of support or compression stocking. Our trained Pharmacists can help you find the best support stockings to fit and suit you, so call in and talk to us.

Weight management/BMI check. BMI (body mass index) is the measurement used to determine whether someone is overweight or obese. BMI is worked out by dividing the body weight measured in kilograms by the square of your height in metres. Here at Gray’s Pharmacy, we offer body mass index testing, which is a simple process, and we offer dietary advice, supplements and products that can help with weight management.
