Corsodyl Dental Gel is especially useful when targeting specific areas within the mouth.
- Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)
- Mouth ulcers
- Oral thrush (Candida infection)
- Denture sore mouth
- It can also be used to promote gum healing following dental surgery or treatment
If your gums are bleeding either when you are flossing or brushing, first, step up your oral hygiene routine – especially between teeth cleaning. if after a week or two there is no reduction or you are in pain or discomfort see your dentist to work out why your gums are like this. Bleeding gums are not healthy and there are a number of things that may cause bleeding – your dental team will be able to help
This gel contains 1% chlorhexidine digluconate which has a dual action – It attacks and helps destroy the plaque bacteria which cause gum irritation and it creates a protective layer over your teeth and gums for up to 12 hours helping prevent the build-up of plaque biofilm. It will help control symptoms but not heal gum disease – you need to seek professional advise and treatment.
HOW TO USE Corsodyl 1% w/w Dental Gel is an effective short term treatment for gum problems. Use as directed on the product label or by your dental team.
- For gum disease: Brush your teeth for at least one minute once or twice daily using 2cm of gel. Continue the treatment for about a month or as recommended by your dentist
- For mouth ulcers or oral thrush: Apply gel directly to the sore areas using your finger top or a cotton bud once or twice daily for at least one minute
- For denture sore mouth: Smear gel lightly over the fitting surfaces of the dentures before putting in the mouth; Leave denture out at nighttime and clean thoroughly see here for advice on denture care
- After dental surgery or tooth decay: Use as directed by your dentist
