What are NiQuitin Mini 4mg Lozenges and what are they used for?
NiQuitin Minis 4mg are used to help people stop smoking. This type of treatment is called Nicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT. NiQuitin Minis 4mg is indicated in adults and adolescents (12-17 years). NiQuitin Minis 4mg are intended for smokers who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day. NiQuitin Minis 4mg can also be used for gradual cessation for smokers who are unwilling or unable to quit abruptly. NiQuitin should preferably be used in conjunction with a behavioral support programme. Your chances of quitting will be improved if you take part in a support programme. How to use NiQuitin Mini Lozenges:
The instructions about how to use NiQuitin Minis 4mg depend on whether you are:
- (a) stopping smoking straightaway
- (b) cutting down before stopping
NiQuitin Minis 4mg are intended for smokers who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day. This product is for oromucosal use. That means that the nicotine in the tablets is released slowly into the mouth from where it is absorbed into the body. In all cases you should use NiQuitin Minis 4mg by putting one lozenge in your mouth and from time to time move it from one side of your mouth to the other, until it is completely dissolved. This should take around 10 minutes. Do not chew the lozenge or swallow it whole. Do not use more than 15 lozenges a day. What you need to know before using NiQuitin Mini Lozenges:
Do not use NiQuitin Minis 4mg:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to nicotine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine (listed in section 6 of the patient information leaflet)
- if you are a non-smoker or under the age of 12 years.
